We were fortunate to have been involved in the relocation of Model Group’s office to their new headquarters located in the historic Lafayette Hall, adjacent to Findlay market. The company was moving from an isolated office building in Walnut Hills into the heart of the neighborhood they’ve been working to revitalize. At their previous office, the disjointed physical layout of the spaces made communication between different departments difficult. Our goal was to design a space that facilitated collaboration and communication. We provided an open floor plan, with large expanses of glass to provide connecting views and light, and a large open area that serves as social gathering space – a ‘living room’ for the office. The historic attic space with its beautiful 150-year-old trusses was converted to useable floor area, providing meeting rooms, and access to roof decks with sweeping views of the city.
