In the summer of 2021, Ancra Cargo hired Platte to design a new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility inside an existing 150,000 SF warehouse in Hebron, Kentucky.

After working with the client to understand their culturally cohesive brand—externally conservative, internally aggressive—and refine their programmatic requirements, Platte developed a plan that included a 25,000 SF office area and a separate 4,000 SF machine shop for R+D, plus all the other open warehouse space organized around assembly and storage of their cargo securement products.

We paid special attention to scale—given that everything was spread across a single floor, we inserted multiple common areas to aid in navigation and walkability. Also notable, we incorporated the pattern language of their logistics panels into custom designed and fabricated metal panels mounted to the walls of the bistro, lobby, and central break out zone. More than anything, we helped a company unite previously separated operations into a single, top-of-market facility that would attract talent and express their bold ambitions.
